We Can Help You Improve Your Math Skills!

Like building a house, success with math requires a solid foundation. Our dedicated instructors, all of whom have years of experience helping people just like you “get” math, will also help you build important study skills including note-taking and test-taking techniques.

When you become an NECC student, you will take the Academic Placement Assessment, or ACCUPLACER, which will help to accurately place you in the appropriate classes to ensure your success.

If you need to improve your math skills before moving on to college-level courses, you will be placed in Foundations of Mathematics, Math Literacy for College Students, or Foundations of Algebra. These courses are eligible for financial aid but do not carry graduation credit and are not usually transferable. They will help you make progress in your math abilities to move on to college-level courses.

See the NECC Math Chart for the sequence of math courses at NECC. If you need help accessing or understanding this chart please contact Habib M. Maagoul at hmaagoul@necc.mass.edu or 978-556-3344.

We Offer Diverse Methods of Math Instruction

You can choose traditional classes that meet a full semester or that meet 8-weeks, hybrid, learning communities, those with Supplemental Instruction, online sections, and fusion courses that are paired with college-level math.
