Welcome to the spring semester!
The library is responsive to the information needs of its users, while balancing its obligation to safety and security of the college community. Due to the increased spread of Covid-19, all services which can be delivered remotely, will be, until further notice. During the spring semester, access to the Lawrence or Haverhill library is by appointment only (including computer access), and all reservations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to better manage the number and frequency of persons coming onto campus, while assuring your information needs continue to be met.
As always, any time you come to the library, you must wear a face covering at all times, properly fitted over both your mouth and nose.
What are the library hours?
Appointments may be made within the schedule below, with 24-hour advance notice.
- Monday 8am-12pm & 5pm-8pm
- Tuesday 12pm-4pm
- Wednesday 8am-12pm & 5pm-8pm
- Thursday 12pm-4pm
- Saturday 9am-12pm

Since we are not offering in-person research assistance this spring, requests for help can be made by choosing one of the options available on the library’s homepage. These service points will be monitored by professional Research Librarians and Technology Assistants this spring from 8am-11 pm Monday – Wednesday, 8am-8pm on Thursdays, 8am-4pm on Fridays, and 9am – 5pm Saturdays, and 7pm-11pm Sundays (holidays excluded).
Are you a faculty member looking for information literacy services for your class?
Research Assistance and library instruction will take place virtually this spring, and the team of professional librarians will work with you to make the experience as engaging and successful as possible. If you are a faculty member who wants to enhance your online teaching with library instruction or research consultations, you can contact us using the “Chat with Us” or “Text Us” feature on our homepage. We are able to provide library instruction using Zoom, and a library presence can easily be embedded in your Blackboard course to meet student needs.
What other assistance is available online from the library?
The library provides most of our resources online, and we have many guides to assist you with accessing them:

- Research Process Help: On the right side of our main Research Guide page there are a number of Research Process & Resources guides that go over some of what we might be covered in an in-person class – evaluating sources, citation help, scholarly vs. popular, etc.
- Subject Specific Help: On our main Research Guide page each Subject Area in the curriculum has a specific Research Guide which talks about both library and web resources specific to that subject.
- Citation Help
Many e-books are available through our catalog as well, and reference resources like encyclopedias through the “Facts” tab on our homepage search. If you need help linking any of these sources in your courses, let us know.
