NECC’s Grant Resource Center (GRC) is pleased to offer the following workshop series.

Grant Research and Writing Essentials

Geared to those new to grant writing, this practical workshop introduces you to the process of researching grants as well as key resources, databases and websites to identify possible foundation, corporate and governmental funding prospects. Examine how grants fit into your wider development strategy and learn the nuts and bolts of how to create a winning grant proposal with an eye to making the process as efficient and effective as possible so you can not only get the proposal out but also have time to provide services to the community too!

Beyond the Basics: Winning Grant Writing Strategies

Do you have some experience in grant writing but would like to go to the next level? Our facilitator will share their years of experience in both writing and reviewing grants. You’ll learn: how to plan your grant for maximum funding success; the secret language used by successful grant writers; how to think like a reviewer; simple ways to package your grant for maximum effect; grant writing “Dos and Don’ts” based upon sample grants that we love and grants that we can’t believe were submitted. Time will be provided for interaction, sharing of concrete examples and lively discussion.

Successful Grant Management

Now that you’ve been awarded the grant, how do you manage the grant successfully? Examine critical legal, financial, operational and policy issues, tools and practical strategies to ensure you are in compliance with funder requirements, making decisions that contribute to effective programs with meaningful outcomes, doing what is necessary to avoid costly mistakes that could impact funder confidence, and steps that should be taken to improve your chances of future grant awards. Special attention will be give to managing the budget, preparing reports and measuring outcomes.
