Upgrade Your Computer Skills

There are so many ways technology tools can make your personal and professional life easier. Whether you are just learning about basic programs like Microsoft Word and Excel, or are looking to build advanced knowledge about Google Apps, or Photo Imaging, NECC is here to help, with convenient campus-based and online classes.



These classes will be as much like a Face-to-Face course as possible.  You will be able to see and hear the instructor, other participants and see the instructor’s computer screen.   You are welcome to ask (or answer!) questions any time throughout the class.


Here is what you will need to be ready for a Zoom session:

A Windows PC (an Apple Mac can be used)

If you have a laptop, it most likely has speakers,  a microphone, and a web cam built-in – all the hardware you need to enjoy a Remote Zoom class at NECC!
A working PC speaker or headphones

If you have a desktop computer, you may need to plug in headphones or a sound system
A working microphone
A working Web Cam is very helpful, but not absolutely necessary.  (You can get one that plugs into a USB port on your computer for about $20.)
For a desktop, you may need to plug in a web cam to a USB port
Many Web cams have a microphone built-in, so adding that will take care of both
Note: If you use Skype on your computer, and can see, hear, and talk to people, you have the equipment you need for Zoom

The instructor will send you an email containing a link to the course a few days prior to the start date.  If you do not have Zoom on your computer, it will be automatically be installed when you click the link.
