Interior Decoration & Staging Courses
The Fundamentals of Interior Decoration
This hands-on course provides a broad overview of the fundamental process, tools, concepts, principles and language of interior decoration, including color theory and psychology, furniture styles and placement. It also provides the underpinning for all other courses in the program and is a requirement for the certificate of completion.

Intro to SketchUp for Interior Decorators
SketchUp is a simple yet amazingly powerful software tool for creating, viewing, and modifying 3D ideas quickly and easily, combining the spontaneity of pencil sketching with the speed and flexibility of today’s digital media. You’ll create photorealistic views of interior or exterior spaces, combined with styles, shadows and 3D walk-through animations. Bring thumb drive to save projects worked on in class.

SketchUp Part II
Continuation from Intro to SketchUp for Interior Decorators, students will learn more advanced camera tools for navigation around their model and exporting 2D graphic images and 3D video files. Use of sand box tools will be covered to integrate terrain and geography into their model. Introduction to Layout software (provided with SketchUp Pro) will be used to create a working sheet set for a completed project.

E-Design for Interior Designers NEW!
A 3-week class that focuses graphically enhancing your interior design portfolio, whether providing interior design services online or creating electronic design boards to brand your services and market your company. We will spend a class using Microsoft PowerPoint as well as Adobe InDesign to showcase the different software platforms you can use to organize your sketches, drawings, and images. We will cover things like template design, downloading fonts, and using multi-page PDF’s.

Photoshop for Interior Designers NEW!
Learn how to utilize Adobe Photoshop to enhance, transform, and filter your plans and sketches. In this class, you will learn how to render a floor plan with photo-realistic textures. We will enhance your perspectives with color and filters. Lastly, we cover staging design with cut and paste Photoshop utilizing transform and distort. All of these techniques can amplify your interior design work and ultimately make a more impactful design presentation.
