Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find information on COVID-19?

We recommend checking out the CDC’s website for the most up to date information.

Am I required to be vaccinated to attend or visit NECC?
While vaccinations are not required, they are highly recommended per current CDC guidance.
Where can I find information on the COVID-19 vaccine?
The CDC’s website has helpful information about the COVID-19 vaccine. If you are looking for a vaccination site, please check either the Massachusetts Vaccination or the New Hampshire Vaccination websites.
Are face coverings required on an NECC campus?
While NECC is a Mask Flexible Campus, there are times that we strongly recommend wearing a mask, such as if you are considered a close contact, have completed the quarantine phase but are still within 10 days of your positive COVID-19 test, or are experiencing minor cold symptoms.
Which type of mask best protects from COVID-19?
It is recommended that you wear the most protective mask you can that fits well and that you will wear consistently. Certain types of masks offer higher levels of protection than others. KN95 and N95 are more effective than cloth or surgical face coverings at protecting against the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Can I re-use the more effective N95 mask?
NIOSH-certified N95 masks are designed to be single-use devices but may be used multiple times under crisis capacity strategies. Mask performance will decrease over time. NECC has a limited supply of certified N95 masks available to the college community free of charge, while supplies last.
When should I stay off campus?
Please respect and support your fellow community members by staying home if you are ill, including if you have tested positive for COVID 19.
How do I report a positive test result?
At this time, it is not necessary to officially report a positive test. Please note that due to CDC recommendations, contact tracing is not currently being conducted by the college – but this is subject to change. Please reach out to your faculty member or supervisor to let them know of your status and make arrangements for the completion of any required work.
Who can I reach out to for questions, concerns, or support?
For COVID-19 questions please reach out to Director of Operations and Special Projects Marissa Elliott either at melliott@necc.mass.edu or at (978) 556-3919
