Testing Resources
Northern Essex Community College does not provide testing services to students to diagnose learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, or autism spectrum disorders. The following local resources for testing are provided for information purposes only and are not endorsed by NECC or the Center for Accessibility Resources & Services.
Testing can be expensive, and not all medical insurance providers cover testing. Some insurance companies will cover the neurological consultation, but not the educational components.
The Center for Accessibility Resources & Services has developed specific documentation guidelines for disabilities, including learning disabilities and AD/HD. Please refer to these guidelines to determine the testing that we require to determine a student’s eligibility for accommodations at NECC. The Center for Accessibility Resources & Services requires documentation that is current, preferably within the past five years.
Public Agencies
State Rehabilitation Commissions
State Rehabilitation Commissions
State Rehabilitation Commissions work with people with disabilities to find or keep jobs that are consistent with their skills and abilities. Individuals must meet the agency’s guidelines. If the agency determines that testing is needed to identify a disability that may impact job readiness, there is no charge for the testing.
