Summer 2025 programs are currently grant-funded and being offered at no cost!

Are you ready to make a difference? In collaboration with NECC’s Division of Health Professions, we are offering comprehensive, fast-paced training programs to help you train for in-demand positions like Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Pharmacy Technician. Our noncredit certificate programs are designed to help you get trained and ready for in-demand roles quickly. Gain practical, hands-on skills taught by experienced professionals and prepare for industry certifications. Explore our programs below and find the path that’s right for you!

Acceptance will require activities such as applications, screenings and/or interviews. Program coordinators and advisors are here to help guide you through the process of getting started. Limited spacing available.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Accelerate your career with our 4-week, DPH-approved CNA training program.

Begin your nursing journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant. CNAs work under the supervision of nurses, providing fundamental care to patients in various settings. This program provides the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to assist patients with daily activities and monitor their well-being.

  • Learn from expert instructors in a hybrid format with online lectures, interactive Zoom sessions, hands-on labs, and a 25-hour clinical experience.
  • Get certified with the Massachusetts CNA certification exam—now offered in English, Haitian Creole, Spanish, and Chinese. Learn about our 7-hour CNA Test Preparation Course.
  • Master essential skills like patient care, infection control, dementia care, vital signs, and more.

Pharmacy Technician

Fast-track your career with our 3-week Pharmacy Technician program.

Play a crucial role in the healthcare system by assisting pharmacists in providing medication and other healthcare products to patients. Pharmacy Technicians work behind the counter and in hospital pharmacies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Our program prepares you for the technical and procedural aspects of the job.

  • Engage in 60 hours of dynamic live/remote classes and boost your experience with an optional 80-hour externship.
  • Get certified for PTCB or NHA exams while mastering pharmacology, medication calculations, pharmacy law, and operations.
  • Convenient weekday classes: both AM and PM classes are available based on students availability, with just 2 hours of self-study daily.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Be the first line of care in emergencies.

Step into the fast-paced world of emergency medical services. EMTs are crucial first responders, providing basic life support and stabilizing patients during medical emergencies and transport. This program prepares you for the demanding but rewarding role of an EMT through classroom learning and practical skills training.

  • Engage in 144 hours of dynamic classes and receive credit points for completion.
  • Qualify for the Massachusetts Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) Certification Examination
  • Convenient classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Phlebotomy Technician

Master the essential skill of drawing blood.

Become a vital member of the clinical laboratory team! Phlebotomy Technicians specialize in drawing blood samples from patients for testing, transfusions, research, or donations. Our program provides training in venipuncture techniques, specimen handling, patient safety, and communication.

  • Engage in both classroom learning and hands-on laboratory skills.
  • Qualify for the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam
  • Can also be applied to the Healthcare Technician Certificate pathway

Certified Community Health Worker

Bridge the gap between communities and healthcare.

Make a real difference in community well-being! Certified Community Health Workers act as trusted liaisons, helping individuals and communities navigate healthcare and social service systems. This program equips you with the skills to provide culturally appropriate health education, outreach, advocacy, and support.

  • Learn critical community outreach and engagement strategies and how to navigate healthcare and social service systems.
  • Successful completion of this coupled with 2,000 hours of work will qualify you to become a Certified Community Health Worker.

Certified Nurse Assistant State Exam Prep

Prepare for the Massachusetts State CNA Exam.

This one day, 7-hour course will provide an extensive overview of Certified Nursing Assistant Skills in preparation for the Massachusetts State CNA Exam. Our experienced RN instructor will review the Massachusetts Mock Skills in detail, using lecture, skills video review, and hands-on demonstration and practice.

  • Students will practice and be given feedback on all 19 Mock Skills provided by the Massachusetts State CNA testing vendor.
  • Eligible students will have the option to register for MA State Skills and/or Knowledge Exam by the end of the day.
