Create Positive Change on Campus

As a member of the Student Government Association, your voice, actions, and decisions can have an immediate and long-term impact on the NECC student body. You’ll help identify and address student concerns while creating an inclusive environment and promoting better communication and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, you have use of an office for SGA business on the Haverhill campus in the Student Center on the second floor in the Knights Nook, cube 1 & 2 and on the Lawrence Campus in the Dimitry  (L) Building, room 133. As a student involved in SGA you can attend regional conferences and summits and this will make a powerful addition to your resume.

I am studying Laboratory Science. I’m a veteran of the Armed Forces and served for 11 years, from this experience I learned a lot about leadership that I will use in my SGA role.  I am a member of The National Society of Leadership and Success, and I completed both my Advanced and Executive Leadership Certifications. I joined SGA because I want the students to have a voice, support them in any way, and to make their time at NECC as enjoyable as possible. I am honored to be in this position and looking forward to not only the opportunities that SGA will give but working with an amazing group of people as well. You can reach at 00140416@student.necc.edu with any questions or concerns.

Hello! My name is Zoey Lauria and I am SGA’s Programming Chair of the Haverhill Campus. I am a biology major here at Northern Essex and I am super passionate about everything in science. I decided to join SGA to have my voice be heard and make a difference in our community. My current position in SGA is Programming Chair of the Lawrence Campus. Due to COVID-19 all programs are virtual so I will target all students this year in my programs. I joined SGA because I saw it as an opportunity to be a leader and to share with other students that want to be leaders as well, that they can be. Marketing & Communications Chair, Eli Abbott

Hi, my name is Eli Abbott, and I am happy to have the opportunity to serve on the SGA as the Marketing and Communication Chair. I am just finishing up my first year here at NECC. I am currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Associate program and will be graduating next year. I enjoy being involved outside of the classroom while at NECC.  I was hoping to run on the cross-country team, but we didn’t have enough interest and so now I am doing Esports. I view myself as a very open-minded individual and I am always willing to help in any way. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at 00321482@student.necc.edu with any questions or concerns.

Secretary, Alyssa Piccolo

My name is Alyssa Piccolo and I currently serve as the Secretary for the Student Government Association here at Northern Essex Community College. I am a sophomore planning on graduating in the Spring of 2021. I am an only child who loves nothing more than spending time with her family and engaging in school-related activities where I am able to help and give back to my peers as much as possible. I am an Early Childhood Education Major, and I work with children ages from infants to preschool and school age. I love children and the ability to help them grow academically is amazing to experience first hand. Therefore, when I was in high school I participated in Skills USA where I served as a leadership member and competed in my shop which at the time was Graphic Communications and Design. Being apart of SkillsUSA has really given me the opportunity to explore, meet new people, and gain an abundance of courage and support along the way. I strongly believe my experience with SkillsUSA helped me to take advantage of getting involved with SGA. I appreciate SGA because I get to help, be involved, and act as a leader to everyone and anyone. I love knowing that I can be apart of other’s lives in a positive manner. Also, I really have met the greatest people in SGA, and seeing everyone in their positions really has shown me that with great minds, and dedication anything is possible. Overall, SGA has brought this light to my life and I am forever grateful to call the other members and my advisor family. So I hope you consider joining SGA. We have a lot of fun! You can reach at 00318651@student.necc.edu with any questions or concerns.

I am a mother of one and a full-time student, working towards their associates in Accounting. Student treasurer is an appropriate position as it deals with the monetary organization and exposition of SGAs funds. I am so happy for the opportunity that was given to me, to be able to serve in SGA during these trying times and add to the diversity of an already diverse group of student body representatives. You can reach me via email at 00319798@student.necc.edu with any questions or concerns.

Northern Essex Community College students may use this anonymous form to submit suggestions, complaints, and ideas to the NECC Student Government Association (SGA) for change we can advocate for on campus.

While the form can be submitted anonymously, you can also provide your name and contact information (below) if you’d like a direct response regarding your suggestion. If you would like it to be anonymous please disregard the fields below that would identify you.
