To serve the needs of NECC students, employees and members of our community, professional childcare services are available in both Haverhill and Lawrence.
YMCA of the North Shore
The YMCA of the North Shore is providing early education programs for infants, toddlers, and preschool/pre-kindergarteners, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, on Northern Essex’s Haverhill Campus. Located in the sport and fitness center, the center is open to Northern Essex faculty, staff, and student families and community families.
The YMCA of the North Shore has child care centers at eight locations through the North Shore. All of their Massachusetts programs are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. To learn more, contact Stacey Clay, clays@northshoreymca.org.
Free Drop-in Child Care
NECC, in partnership with YMCA of the North Shore, is launching a pilot program offering free drop-in child care for students with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers on the Haverhill Campus. Thanks to CARES Act Funding and the NECC Fund, students—and faculty and staff—will be able to access up to eight hours a week of free child care while they participate in on campus classes and activities. The child care will be available Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, and parents must enroll two weeks in advance since space is limited to 15 spots per hour.
This is a pilot program open to Northern Essex faculty, staff, and student families and community families. The child care center is located in the Sport and Fitness Center on the college’s Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St, Haverhill.

Community Day Care Early Learning Center
Childcare services for the Lawrence campus are provided at the Community Day Care Early Learning Center located at 190 Hampshire Street, 3rd Floor, Lawrence, MA.
College for Kids
College for Kids is a creative arts program for children ages 6-9 offered during the summer on the NECC Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott Street, Haverhill, MA 01830.
