College Accreditation is Continued
At the April 6 meeting of the board of trustees, President Hartleb reported that he received a notification letter from the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. indicating the college’s accreditation would be continued for the next 10 years with a fifth-year interim report for consideration in the fall of 2015.
“I want to pass it around because I love it,” said Hartleb about the letter. “It’s filled with high praise and is a credit to our faculty and staff.”
The two-and-a-half year accreditation process included a self-study by NECC, an on-site visit by NEASC, and an opportunity for input by the public.
The NEASC visiting team was on campus last fall meeting with students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and community members to find out if what the college reported in its self-study was accurate. The team report was submitted in December of 2010 and the college received word of its continued accreditation in late March.
