Northern Essex Community College’s music program, as part of its community outreach, is offering a week-long piano workshop for individuals 10 and over of all playing abilities, from Monday, July 11, through Friday, July 15. The cost is $250 per person with a $25 registration fee.

This program focuses on technique and repertoire and balances traditional instrumental training with instruction in fundamental music theory and the introduction of piano literature in its historical context.

This session will provide individual lessons during the morning session and master classes in the afternoon. Various piano works of composers from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern periods will be considered. On the final day of the program there will be an evening performance of the works studied by the participants.

Conducted by renowned NECC faculty member Christina Dietrich and guest artist Michael Kramer, each student will meet with Dietrich, for proper placement, prior to the start of the workshop.

Assessment interviews will take place on June 24th and 27th.
