NECC Student Art and Design Show Opens
Nearly two dozen Northern Essex Community College art and design students from throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire are participating in the Exiting Student Show on display through Sunday, May 22, in the ArtSpace in the Bentley Library on the Haverhill campus.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 2 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The gallery will also be open during the NECC college commencement on Saturday morning, May 21.
“Departure” will feature drawings, paintings, photographs, illustrations and design work from students in the Art & Design department. Northern Essex Department of Arts & Design offers many courses in fine art and design leading to associate degrees in visual arts, illustration, graphic design and multi-media as well as a certificate in graphic design/desktop publishing.
Many of the students in this year’s show will be transferring to four-year institutions in the fall including Massachusetts College of Art & Design; School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Art Institute of Chicago, New Hampshire Institute of Art, and Monserrat College of Art.
This event is free and open to the public.
