New NECC Student Wins Laptop

Submitted by on October 11, 2011 – 1:20 pm

Tyler McMullen of Hampstead, NH, was the winner of a new Dell laptop computer raffled off by Northern Essex Community College’s Student Engagement Center.  McMullen’s name was randomly selected from a pool of students who participated in NECC’s new student orientation.

The goal of the new student orientation is to help students get acquainted with the NECC and college life and ensure that each student leaves the orientation with everything he or she needs to be a successful college student. All new students who are registered for six credits or more are required to attend this four-hour Introduction to Northern Essex Community College.

Topics discussed include classroom expectations, financial planning for college and college success resources on campus. Students also had the opportunity to get their student identification card and speak with current students.

New student orientations are offered each July, August, and January on both the Haverhill and Lawrence campuses.
