Jessica Gardner of Methuen, a student in Northern Essex Community College’s Radiologic Technology Program will attend the 2012 American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Educational Symposium and Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting June 28 through July 1, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Out of many radiologic technology students across the country who submitted essays, Gardner’s was one of 50 accepted into this ASRT Student Leadership Development Program. She will have the opportunity to learn from leaders in the radiologic sciences and find out about ASRT’s role in the profession.

Gardner will attend educational programming designed for students and will receive her own mentor during the symposium. In 2011, NECC Radiologic Technology student Kerri-Anne Covey attended this Student Leadership Development Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Both Gardner and Covey will graduate in May 2012. Recognition also goes to their Faculty Advisor and Clinical Coordinator, Professor Patricia Willett, RT (R)(CT), who encouraged and supported their application process.
