NECC Student Journalists Attend Industry Conference

Northern Essex Community College student journalists attended the New England Newspaper and Press Association (NENPA) fall conference in October in Natick and its winter convention earlier this month in Boston.

At the fall conference, students met NECC alumnus Rod Doherty, executive editor of NH’s Foster’s Daily Democrat.  Foster’s had just won Newspaper of the Year in its category.

At the winter convention, students attended seminars on the news industry and learned about professional journalistic practice. A trade organization for the newspaper industry, NENPA attracts top executives from 450 daily, weekly, and specialty newspapers throughout New England.
