NECC Professors and Students Arrive in Italy

Ciao from Florence, Italy!

Professors Marc Mannheimer and Barbara Stachniewicz and a group of six students arrived in Florence, Italy for a three-week study abroad experience on Sunday, June 3.

The students will take two courses, earning a total of six credits, while in Italy, as part of Northern Essex’s International Studies Program.

Professor Mannheimer is teaching a course in the Art History of Florence and each student is also enrolled in an additional course taught at the Florence University of the Arts.

Florence, Italy is the home of the Italian Renaissance, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo and Dante, as well as many other well-known artists, scientists, and writers.

Professor Mannheimer shared the feelings of the group when he said “We look forward to three weeks of art, culture, food and fabulous experiences.”

Students include: Luke Reynolds Hannah Heckman-McKenna, Molly Canyes, James McHenry, Hailey Vincent and Nicole LeVasseur.
