Submitted by on March 9, 2021 – 8:16 pm

Northern Essex Community College is recruiting students now for a free three-week Certified Pharmacy Technician Training Program, that begins on June 1.

The program includes 60 hours of online instruction, as well as an optional 80-hour externship. Graduates are prepared to take the pharmacy technician certification examination and to work under a registered pharmacist in a hospital, home infusion center, or pharmacy.

Classes are held Monday through Friday from 10 to noon and an additional two hours of self-directed study is required each day.

This program is supported by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education’s Training Resources and Internship Network (TRAIN) grant program, which is designed to support long-term unemployed, under-employed and new entrant adult workers who seek to enter/renter the workforce and address workforce shortages.
