College for Older Learners Hosts Seminar Showcase

Northern Essex Community College’s College of Older Learners (CoOL) designed for individuals 50 and older who want to participate in scholarly seminars, will begin its second year with a Seminar Showcase Presentation on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bentley Library ArtSpace Gallery on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.

Individuals interested in CoOL will have the opportunity to meet with the fall 2012 season’s seminar leaders and learn more about the program. Each seminar meets one day a week for six weeks from 2 to 4 p.m. The cost is $25 per seminar.

This year’s seminar topics include Revisiting the 60s, The Power of Art, Living with Hearing Loss, Sacred Geometry for Beginners, Effective Retiring, The Art of Reading Aloud to Children, Relativity and Common Sense, Edible Wild Mushrooms, and Memoir Writing.
