Northern Essex Community College invites students, faculty, and the community to An Evening with Julia Alvarez, presented through the White Fund Enlightenment Series.

The event will take place on Thursday, October 2, from 5:30–7:30 PM at John R. Dimitry building – 45 Franklin street, Lawrence MA – Atrium 

This special evening will feature a reading, conversation, and book signing with Julia Alvarez, the internationally celebrated Dominican-American author of In the Time of the Butterflies and The Cemetery of Untold Stories. Known for her powerful storytelling and cultural insight, Alvarez will share her experiences and literary journey in a bilingual-friendly setting open to all.

The event is free and open to the public. 
Lala Books will be on-site selling books in English and Spanish. 
Light refreshments will be provided.
