Hello NECC Community,
Beginning Fall 2025, your college or university will transition from Follett to a modern two‑partner course materials and retail campus store solution:
- eCampus.com – 24/7 online bookstore for all textbook (print and digital) and course material ordering
- University Gear Shop (UGS) – on‑campus retail store and course materials pickup center
Why the Change?
We partnered with PACE (Partnership to Advance Collaboration and Efficiencies) initiative, which includes 15 state universities and community colleges across Massachusetts, to select a new bookstore vendor. The bookstore contract has been awarded to eCampus, who will manage our course materials, and University Gear Shop (UGS), who will manage our bookstore storefront.
eCampus.com and UGS were selected for their focus on a customer-centric experience backed by over 20 years of commitment to lower costs, increased choice, and a refreshed retail experience. With this new vendor, and because of a rapidly changing textbook vendor marketplace, a significant change from the current bookstore vendor model (traditional, all-in-one full-service campus bookstore) has been selected. The change is that course materials will no longer be stocked on store shelves—everything starts online and students can ship course materials to our campus store or to a residential home address.
