The Alumni office is providing a new resource for students. An on-line micro-mentoring opportunity that connects students with alumni willing to offer advice, NECC Connect.

A student simply submits their question, it is then auto sent to a pool of randomly selected alumni from our database for a potential response. It could be a simple question like, “I’m considering a career in accounting, do you have any advice for a student considering this career path?” There are no passwords or log-ins to remember.

Email Forwarding 9/1/23

Email Forwarding 9/1/23

Hello Students,

NECC’s Information Technology Service is making a change to stop external email forwarding in Microsoft 365 effective September 18, 2023.  Once the change has been implemented, you will no longer be able to forward your NECC emails to an external address.

The reason for this change is because automatically forwarded messages to external senders can pose a security risk due to the potential of unintended disclosure of personal information.  Attackers can use this information to attack the organization, the individuals, or third-party vendors we work with.

If you already have the forwarding/redirect rule enabled you will receive an “Access denied, your organization does not allow external forwarding”.

To remove forwarding/redirect rule:

  • Login to Outlook.com, select Settings in the upper right corner of the screen .
  • Select Mail > Forwarding.
  • To turn off forwarding, uncheck Enable forwarding and select Save.

As a reminder, you should check your NECC email account every day for important information as that is the way the college will communicate with you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Jason
