Testing Services
As a National College Testing Association (NCTA) Certified Test Center, we offer a variety of testing services on both the Haverhill and Lawrence campuses. Whether you are looking to earn college credit by completing an exam on a certain subject, take the HiSET and GED to earn your high school equivalency credential or take the TEAS test for Nursing (ADN) or Allied Health (AH) programs, we can help.
You may also be able to earn credit for your life experiences through military and portfolio evaluations, evaluation of credentials, and CLEP and challenge exams.
Testing Services Offered
CLEP and DSST
Taking a CLEP or DSST exam is a great way to get a head start on or fast track your college credits. You can earn credit for what you already know, earn up to 12 college credits toward your degree, (nine credits for foreign language exams), and transfer these credits just about anywhere! HiSET and GED

Pearson VUE
We offer over 1,500 Pearson VUE exams, a leading provider of computer-based testing for high-stakes certification and licensure exams across various industries, including healthcare, finance, and information technology. MORE about 'Pearson VUE Testing'
Proctored Testing
If you are taking an online course at another institution and you need to take an exam, NECC offers proctored (supervised) testing services. MORE about 'Proctored Testing Services '
Proficiency Testing – Foreign Languages exams are offered to measure your proficiency of a foreign language through the language testing services. Northern Essex Community College students can earn 9 credits. Brigham Young University Foreign Language Achievement Tests (BYU FLATS) exams are offered in more than 50 languages and can be used by universities to grant academic credit or to grant you advanced placement in your language of study. New York University (NYU) offers and administers foreign language exams in more than 50 languages and can be used by universities to grant academic credit or to grant you advanced placement in your language of study. The test also may be used for professional purposes, such as teacher certification or to establish linguistic competence for business objectives.

- NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU) testing is available through NYU and Northern Essex Community College accepts the transcript for credit. Click here.
You can take the ACCUPLACER test remotely at NECC for another institution, or if you have tested with us, you can request to have your ACCUPLACER Individual Score Report (ISR) sent to another institution. Complete the Request ACCUPLACER for another Institution form. Once completed, you will receive an email with information to pay the $25.00 fee for this service. Click here to go to Online Payment. Once the payment is confirmed, the Academic Placement & Testing Center will follow up with you to process your request.
ATI TEAS and RN Fundamentals
You can take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) prior to applying for the Nursing (ADN) or Allied Health (AH) programs. We also offer the RN Fundamentals Assessment Test for the Advanced Placement LPN to RN program. MORE about 'Health Profession Testing'
