International Students Admission Process

Northern Essex Community College is an open enrollment school, and we encourage all students to apply regardless of their GPA . We operate on a rolling admission schedule, so we accept your documents at any time. However, we ask that you submit your documents for admission and an I-20 at least 30 days before the start of semester so you have enough time to get a visa or transfer your SEVIS record from your current U.S. institution.

Not Sure What Type of International Student You Are?

Freshman International
Secondary school/high school graduate who lives outside the U.S. and wants to attend NECC as a first time student.
Transfer International
College/university student who lives outside the U.S. and wants to transfer to NECC.
Transfer (Domestic) International
Active F-1 student at a U.S.  High School or College/University who wants to transfer existing I-20 record to NECC.

Acceptance & Next Steps

Once you are admitted and receive your I-20 form you will be required to pay SEVIS fee and, you can apply for an F-1 visa from your local embassy or consulate. Please note that all new freshman and transfer students are required to attend mandatory International Orientation and Immigration Clearance upon arrival in the country.
