CIT Workshop: Hypothesis – A Tool to Make Reading Active and Social

August 29, 2023, 10:00 am to 11:00 am

There is an exciting new active reading tool on Blackboard! Hypothesis is a social annotation tool that allows you and your students to actively read and annotate a text together as a group. You and your students can read, annotate and interact with a text to create a truly social annotation experience in your online or face-to-face classes. Along with traditional annotations, students also have the ability to add URL links to other articles, websites, or videos or even images they feel are relevant to the text you are all reading in your class. Using Hypothesis, students can annotate a variety of texts including PDFs, online articles, YouTube videos, and chapters from an OER book. The possibilities are endless! In our workshop, you will learn how to set up your own Hypothesis assignment, how to prepare a document for a Hypothesis assignment (It is quite easy to do!), and how to grade a hypothesis assignment in your Blackboard class. Do not miss out! Sign up today! Facilitated by Sue Tashjian, Clare Thompson
