Good Afternoon NECC Faculty and Staff:

Please join me at the second President’s General Staff Meeting of the Spring 2023 semester which will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., telecast between TC103A/B and L244.

The agenda for our hour together is as follows:

• “The Great Resignation” at Community Colleges: From the “Great Resignation” to “Quiet Quitting,” reports of employees leaving their jobs, or staying in them while unhappily feeling less engaged, have become more common in every profession over the past couple of years, including higher education. Like businesses and organizations across the country, colleges, and especially community colleges, have been finding it more difficult to attract and retain talented employees.

  Executive Director of Human Resources Patty Gauron and I will share information about how this phenomenon, which is unusual for higher education, has been affecting NECC, as well as steps we are taking to improve our efforts to attract the best faculty and staff possible, and provide everyone who works here with the opportunity for engaging and fulfilling work. We also be providing an opportunity to share your perspectives and ideas.

• Lawrence Transportation Options for Fall 2023: Join CFO Mike McCarthy and Student Trustee Sarah Pachano for an overview of the newly aligned transportation options for Lawrence beginning in the Fall of 2023. Mike and Sarah worked closely with our students to better align student needs with these new transportation options.
• NECC’s New Marketing/Communications Strategic Framework Standards: Vice President of Institutional Advancement Allison Dolan-Wilson and Executive Director of Marketing Communications Keith Paul will outline the college’s new strategic framework for MarComm. This new framework aligns with the college’s institutional mission and vision and guides the strategic decision-making process behind the prioritization and execution of all institutional promotional initiatives.
