FWS Application Process

  • Students can apply for FWS positions by viewing open positions, and contacting supervisors of positions they are eligible for, and for which they wish to apply. If you wish to check whether you would be eligible for work-study, contact Financial Aid.
  • If hired, a student must complete all required forms and receive confirmation of authorization from the NECC Work-Study coordinator before he/she can start working.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Administrative Assistant is needed to assist with a small non-profit that raises funds for families in need for cancer patients. We are currently working with 7 hospitals at this time and plan to grow.  Responsibilities include:

  • Assist and execute Art Gala in October 2018
  • Mass mailing and thank you notes to be sent out after Gala
  • Social media postings and keeping it updated
  • Most important will be that the right student will have a positive attitude

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with event planning and public relations preferred
  • Good communication skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential matters professionally
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Willingness to tackle new projects
  • Social Media
  • Ability to research potential grant proposals
  • Ability to work 15 hours per week  – willing to work around the right student’s school schedule
  • Most importantly- the right student must have a positive attitude
  • Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint skills required

We are willing to work with the right student even if they do not have all qualifications.

No weekends or holidays. Travel to site via of your own transportation.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

Work Study students will be asked to assist in the development of promotional materials such as flyers and other means of promoting programs and events as well as distributing. Your perspective is valued and we all contribute to the audience we are trying to reach. You will also work closely with our staff t o ensure a positive guest experience when someone visits the Chamber office. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in organizing and managing marketing materials
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting guests
  • Stocking supplies
  • Packing and unpacking for events
  • Developing new strategies to serve our community is a priority
