ACCUPLACER TESTING
The Academic Placement & Testing Center offers in-person testing at the Haverhill Campus and the Lawrence Campus and virtual (remote) testing, on a limited basis. Testing can take up to 3 hours, so plan accordingly.
You must have a NECC ID number to take the ACCUPLACER test. If you have not applied to NECC, click here to follow the enrollment process. Once you receive your NECC ID number, you can take the placement test.
*Testing Schedule:
Haverhill Campus walk-in testing is at the Academic Placement & Testing Center in Haverhill at 100 Elliott St., Haverhill, MA 01830, Technology Center, Room TC122. No appointment is necessary. You can walk in Monday-Friday starting at 9:00 AM up until 1:30 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 9:00 AM only, Wednesday, December 20, 2023, you can walk in starting at 9:00 AM up until 4:00 PM.
- Schedule Exceptions: No testing on November 24, 2023, and December 25, 2023 – January 1, 2024, and no testing on college holidays and closures.
Lawrence Campus walk-in testing is at the Academic Placement & Testing Center in Lawrence at 45 Franklin St., Lawrence, MA 01840, Dimitry Building, Room L135. No appointment is necessary. You can walk in Monday-Friday starting at 9:00 AM up until 1:30 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 9:00 AM only, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, and Tuesday, December 12, 2023, you can walk in starting at 9:00 AM up until 4:00 PM.
- Schedule Exceptions: Walk in testing starts at 9:00 AM up until 11:30 AM on November 8, 2023. Walk in testing starts at 11:00 AM up until 1:30 PM on December 7, 2023. No testing November 22 – 24, 2023, December 21 – 22, 2023, and December 25, 2023 – January 1, 2024, and no testing on college holidays and college closures.
Virtual (remote) testing is offered on a limited, by appointment only. Testing takes place on designated weekdays between the hours of 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. To schedule virtual (remote) testing, go to myNECC and click on Student NAVIGATE. When scheduling put the Accuplacer test that you need in Comments (All testing, Reading, Math, Writing, ESL). Once you schedule and enter the test in Comments, you will receive a confirmation from the test proctor. If you need assistance for First Time Logging in to EAB Navigate, click here. If you do not see available appointments, the test sessions are full and walk-in testing is available. Technical requirements are required in advance of testing. Be sure to check your email and the spam/junk folder!

*Testing is not available when the college is closed. There are a few ways to find out whether the college is closed:
- View the Academic Calendar
- Visit the homepage of the college’s website.
- Via the following local television stations: WBZ, WCVB, WHDH, and FOX 25
If you test in-person:
- All testers are required to have a photo ID on test day.
- Bring your NECC ID number with you on test day.
- If you have received accommodations for ACCUPLACER testing, you are required to bring the Approval for Accommodated Testing Intake Form to the proctor on test day.
If you test remotely:
- Check that your laptop or personal computer can run ACCUPLACER.
- Download and install Zoom Client for Meetings
- Test Zoom was setup correctly. Please use the option to join with video.
- Be sure your computer is running Windows 10
- Have the confirmation email available on test day with your voucher number, your zoom meeting ID and password and be sure your laptop or PC is equipped with a microphone and video camera (phones and tablets will not work, and due to technical difficulties, we strongly discourage Chromebooks)
- All testers will be required to have a photo ID on test day.
- The scheduled testing time is the start time. Testing can take up to 3 hours, so plan accordingly.
- If you have received accommodations for ACCUPLACER testing, you are required to show your Approval for Accommodated Testing Intake Form to the proctor on test day.
